Accepting payments via PayPal is a method recommended for merchants who have occasional need for credit card payments.  There is no need for hosting your site on a secure server, since the PayPal interface will connect your customer to the PayPal secure server.

Rates are subject to PayPal Terms and conditions and may vary on the merchant's account setup at PayPal.

Considerations:  Customers who pay at your store with credit card will be prompted to open up a PayPal account during the checkout process, unless they already are registered with PayPal.

Monthly Gateway Access Fee:    $20.00
Per Transaction Fee:   $0.10

 Merchants who plan to accept credits on a daily basis should consider getting a merchant account for the various credit card types they plan to accept online. 

The first step is to establish an Internet Gateway, and MKL.Net recommends Authorize.Net which interfaces with the CartXpress Software in your Control Panel.  Authorize.Net also has optional merchant accounts for MasterCard and Visa as described below.

Merchants who expect to run several thousand transactions per month may opt for a flat Gateway access fee of $50.00 and process transactions in excess of 2000 per month at no charge.

Secure Server Certificates available at the low price of $99.00 per year.

MKL.Net will install the server certificate for you upon placing your order.

 To accept credit cards securely online , you need a secure server certificate, also referred to as an SSL certificate.  Gateway providers will require for you to have a valid secure server certificate as in https://www.mydomain.com.

Authorize.Net Gateway Application with optional Merchant Application

 To accept MasterCard and VISA, you must have a merchant account with a bank serving the business community.  If you already have a merchant account and accept VISA, MasterCards and others in your store, please call your bank and ask them which Internet Gateway they use. In place of Authorize.Net, you may also use PayFlow Pro [formerly:  Cybercash] and a number of other Gateways. 

If you have never accepted credit cards before and need a merchant account, you may choose to apply with Authorize.Net.  Their rates are $9.95 per month recurring fee, $0.25 per transaction [$25 per month Minimum] and a discount rate of 2.19% to 2.39%, depending on the business type.  We have applications online and can put you in touch with a representative at Authorize.Net to assist you in any way.

All you have to do is add this payment method to your Authorize.Net Gateway interface, once you have been provided with an account ID and password.

 Once you have established an Internet Gateway provider such as Authorize.Net, you can complete a merchant application at the American Express Merchant website in order to be able to accept the American Express Card online.  Click on the GET STARTED link on the left hand side on their website to find out rates and establish the account.

All you have to do is add this payment method to your Authorize.Net Gateway interface, once you have been provided with an account ID and password.

 Once you have established an Internet Gateway provider such as Authorize.Net, you can complete a merchant application at the Discover Network website in order to be able to accept Discover card online.  Please contact one of their so-called Acquirers to find out rates and establish the account.
